Jaclyn has extensive experience in the field of education in the classroom and from a policy perspective. She received a B.A. in Government & Politics and an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Maryland. She also worked on Maryland’s plan to implement a nationwide initiative aimed at reforming remedial education in colleges. As a Senior Policy Advisor to the Speaker of the House in MD, Jaclyn focused on legislation related to state education funding formulas, ensuring social studies was included in common core, and requiring ABA therapy to be covered by insurance. Jaclyn received her JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar.
Jaclyn is the parent of a 5th grader with dyslexia and ADHD and has been through the process of testing, supplying documentation and applying to schools to find the right fit for her daughter. She wants to use those experiences to help other families do the same.
